Off the coast of Melenara Beach in Gran Canaria lies a well-known statue known as Neptuno de Melenara. Known as Poseidon in Greek mythology, this statue honours Neptune. It seems unfazed by any waves that crash against it as it stands menacingly in the ocean.

This sculpture, which was built by artist Luis Arencibia, is over thirteen feet tall and weighs hundreds of pounds due to its bronze construction. Neptuno de Melenara is a significant historical and cultural site in the area, as you may guess.
